Highlighting the gender bias still at play in play society, just how far we have to go for true gender parity and rsising awareness to domestic abuse which is now at epidemic levels.
The exhibition aims to help change things for the better. Recognising our collective achievements as well as those individuals that are carving path for women across many sectors locally and globally, the showcase ainss to amplify women’s voices and improve women’s lives; providing the opportunities, recognition and safety that they deserve, today. Because gender equality shouldn’t have to wait.
A selection of portraits of The Independent’s most influential woman of 2025, taken by Sane Seven, will be on display at the exhibition throughout March.
Today two fire trucks and several police cars were deployed to the flat fire on Peabody Estate Lillie Road, children were being evacuated while wailing and cries could be heard - no fatalities or injuries reported so far.
The fire was caused by a malfunctioning fridge that caught alight after Peabody fails to uphold their duty of care to residence once more.
Since Peabody’s merger with Mosaic, their have been rising cases of residence living in poor, unsafe and unsupported conditions, the fire, negligence and failure to uphold safe accommodation for its residence was reminiscent of Grenfell fire in 2017 also started by an electrical fault in a fridge freezer.
